Male and female populations have historically shown different mortality rates at many ages. Official tables preserve that distinction, so the calculator follows the source instead of blending the two numbers.
The difference is useful for actuarial math, but it should still be read as a population average.
Life expectancy changes gradually with age. When you enter a birth date, the calculator estimates your exact age and interpolates between whole-year rows rather than rounding everything to your last birthday.
That makes the translated weeks and days feel smoother while still staying faithful to the life table.
